Where Do You Start? Careers in International Affairs

Washington, DC—On August 10, 2015, as part of the initiative to mentor the next generation of women leaders, the WFPG hosted a panel discussion on career development in international affairs. The panel featured experienced professionals: Angie Bryan, a senior Foreign Service Officer; Stefania Piffanelli, deputy director of the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) in Washington; Mariam Mansury, the community of experts manager for the Institute for Inclusive Security’s National Action Plans team; and moderator Patricia Ellis, president of the WFPG. The panelists shared anecdotes about their career paths, discussed changes within their fields and organizations, and provided insight on the skills critical to succeed and grow.
