The Advocacy and The Ecstasy:
A Year in the Life of an Ambassador for Women and Girls

Natasha Stott Despoja, Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls

Washington, DC—On September 27, 2016, the WFPG hosted a breakfast discussion with Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls Natasha Stott Despoja. Ambassador Despoja addressed the major challenges facing women and girls in Australia and worldwide—including gender-based discrimination and violence against women—and her experience combating them. She underscored the importance of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and political participation, and also covered the role of public-private partnerships and collaboration between men and women as means to overcome barriers to equality. The event was moderated by WFPG President Patricia Ellis.
