    Embassy Series events take place at embassies in Washington, DC and highlight international issues pertinent to the host country. This series rotates to cover different regions of the world. Recent events have been held at:

      "Women in Leadership and their Impact on World Affairs" with Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iceland

      "Egypt and the US: Partners for Peace and Stability" with Dr. Sallama Shaker, Egyptian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Americas
    • The Embassy of Colombia
      “The US-Colombian Partnership” with H.E. Carolina Barco, Ambassador of Colombia to the U.S. and former Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs

    State Department Series features senior-level women officials in the U.S. Department of State, including:

    • Henrietta Holsman Fore, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Management on “How Do You Transform a Department and Transform Our Diplomacy for the Future?”
    • Dina Powell, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs on “Current Public Diplomacy and Educational Exchange Initiatives”
    • Ellen Sauerbrey, Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration on “The US Role in the Protection of Refugee and Displaced Women and Girls”

    Mentoring Fairs are held annually in both Washington, DC and New York City. To promote the next generation of leaders, WFPG members and friends share their career experiences with undergraduate and graduate students interested in international affairs.
