WFPG launched its Foreign Policy and Technology Series on May 15, 2019, at Google's offices in Washington, DC. This new series will highlight the many ways that technology is disrupting and transforming all of our work: from diplomacy and international development, to disaster relief and security. These conversations will address the application of specific technologies in foreign affairs as well as the broader sets of issues surrounding the evolution of our global system.

At the WFPG's
first discussion, members and guests heard from Lean Impact Author and former USAID Chief Innovation Officer Ann Mei Chang, Impl. Project Founder Justin Richmond, UN Foundation's Digital Impact Alliance CEO Kate Wilson, and Chemonics Director Stacia George on data-driven innovation in international development. The speakers covered topics ranging from the importance of collecting the right data and how data can advocate for those without a voice in policy, to the need to overhaul our aid structure to incentivize innovation and learning. This program was held in partnership with Google. Watch Video
