Washington, DC—On August 9, 2013, author Dr. Alessandra González spoke to WFPG about her research on Islamic feminism and women’s political activism in Kuwait. In the discussion, González outlined the differences between Western feminism and Islamic feminism and noted that both liberal and Islamist Kuwaiti women are working within the framework of Islam to pursue their political, economic and social rights.
