Washington, DC—On September 26, 2016, activist Kakenya Ntaiya addressed members and guests on the "Changing the Paradigm: Empowering Girls and Communities through Education." Ms. Ntaiya, founder of Kakenya Center for Excellence, has dedicated her life to empowering and motivating young girls to become agents of change in their community and country through education. Her inspiring story has been the subject of a Washington Post series, a BBC documentary, and many magazine articles, as well as her own 2013 TED Talk. US Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues Cathy Russell opened the program. The event was cosponsored by WFPG and NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
