Washington, DC—On June 20, 2017, Ambassador Dirk Wouters of Belgium partnered with WFPG and hosted its members and guests at his residence for a discussion on the humanitarian and development divide with Kristalina Georgieva, Chief Executive Officer for The World Bank. Georgieva spoke on several issues, such as the importance of focusing on fragile states, the Syrian crisis, The World Bank’s new emphasis on partnerships with NGOs and the private sector, climate change, and what the proposed cuts to funding mean for the future of development. The conversation was moderated by WFPG President Patricia Ellis.
