The Generation Equality Forum, convened by UN Women and co-hosted by the governments of France and Mexico, is a global gathering that intends to drive concrete actions and accelerate progress toward gender equality. 25 years after the Beijing Women’s Conference, the commitments made then have not been matched by action and implementation, and COVID-19 has further exacerbated inequality. The Forum, which kicks off in Mexico City in late March, provides a landmark opportunity to advance women’s rights and make sure gender is at the center of the post-COVID agenda.

Stephanie Oula is the Director for Generation Equality engagement for the Girls and Women team at the United Nations Foundation. Previously, she was a Senior Program Officer with Data2X, where she managed the Women’s Financial Inclusion Data Partnership and worked on gender monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals. Her prior experience as a gender consultant for international non-governmental organizations included advising on partnerships, organizational gender strategies, high-level engagement, and advocacy around adolescent girls. She also managed the Girl Declaration Joint Advocacy Group, which worked to ensure that adolescent girls’ voices, needs, and rights were included in the SDGs. Stephanie received her MS in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics and her BA from Fordham University.

Grace Anderson is a Policy Associate on the Girls and Women team at the United Nations Foundation where she works on Generation Equality engagement and private sector action for gender equality. Previously, from 2019 to 2020 she was a Ford Fellow working on human rights policy at UNF's New York Office. A recent graduate from Stanford University, Grace has previously completed internships at the State Department, the International Rescue Committee, and the Office of Dr. Condoleezza Rice.
