![]() Join us on Friday, July 25th at 12:00 PM ET for an intimate mentoring session with Anne A. Witkowsky, Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations at the U.S. Department of State (2022-2025), as part of the Women's Foreign Policy Group's monthly Mentor Minutes.
Anne A. Witkowsky served as the Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations at the U.S Department of State from January, 2022-January, 2025. Ms. Witkowsky previously served in government as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Stability and Humanitarian Affairs (2014-2016) in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy; as a Deputy Coordinator in the State Department’s Bureau of Counterterrorism (2009-2013), and as Director for Defense Policy and Arms Control on the White House National Security Council staff (1993-2000). She began her career in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy. She has held positions as a non-resident Senior Democracy Fellow at Freedom House, and as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Ms. Witkowsky holds a B.A. in Russian and East European studies from Yale University and an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She is the recipient of State Department Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards, the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Civilian Service, and the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service.
