Combating Misinformation in Times of Crisis

On June 30th, the WFPG held a conversation on Combating Misinformation in Times of Crisis with Taiwan's Digital Minister Audrey Tang, author Meredith Broussard, Hibah Kamal-Grayson of Google, and Amy Studdart of IRI, which covered the efforts of governments and tech companies to ensure the availability of accurate and authoritative information across platforms since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also addressed the role of AI in responding to this crisis--when it can be useful and when it can be unreliable or exacerbate pre-existing inequalities. Watch Video
